Sensei Becca began her Karate journey at a tender age of 8 under the instruction of Sensei Brian Bentham. Sensei Orang joined her karate group as an instructor and it soon became apparent that Sensei Becca’s passion was Kumite and from being a 9th Kyu right up to present day as a 3rd Dan. She has competed in many prestigious events over the years representing both her previous club and Tokon Taiki as well as United Karate England at National Squad level.
Sensei Becca has won countless number of trophies and medals including a European bronze medal in kumite. Sensei Becca’s favourite International tournament is the Malta International Open where she represented her club back in 2005, in which she won gold and also more recently in 2019 representing the UKE National Squad achieving silver and bronze in kumite.

Biography:
Although I have studied karate since the age of 8, I did have a 9 year break when I joined the HM prison service in 2009 and went on to get married and have my two children.
I took Ruby, my eldest, to Tokon Taiki at age 5 under the instruction of Sensei Orang as he had been a major influence in my karate journey through my younger years (and to this day) and I couldn’t imagine a better instructor for my children. She has flourished and has competed in many events achieving medals along the way and I’m hoping my youngest Rosie will follow in her footsteps.
After watching Ruby for a couple of weeks I couldn’t help but get my Gi back on and get back into training. Since doing that in 2017, I have never looked back, regaining my passion for competing and teaching the students at our club which is one of the most rewarding things I have ever done in my life.
In my spare time I love to play netball, socialise with family and friends and just enjoy life to the full! .
